Phalenopsis flasks – October, 2022

I’ve got a few too many flasks of one of my “3-species” Phalaenopsis hybrids. This one is (Phal. javanica × Phal. Kuntrarti Rarashati ‘Copperstate’ HCC/AOS). Phal. javanica (the pod parent) is a multifloral, striped species that tends to throw multiple spikes of slightly recurved striped flowers held close to the plant.

Phal. Kuntrarti Rarashati (the awarded pollen parent) is (equestris × venosa) and is a very highly colored miniature that also tends to throw lots of flower spikes – and keikis. I’m hoping to move the flowers a bit further from the plants via the pollen parent’s tendencies, and would expect very colorful striped miniature flowers on multiple spikes.

These are ready to be deflasked now; the seedlings are large and vigorous. I would guess about 10-15 seedlings per flask. $65 apiece, will deliver to you somewhere that’s mutually convenient, or will bring to November meeting.
